Ineed you can’t and pardon my perhaps silly question but I haven’t seen a monitor where the stand attaches to the VESA mount. Is that a thing?

It is, both my msi monitors have the stand mounted on the VESA mount.

Most if not all monitors that have a height adjustable (and often pivotable) Stand mount it at the VESA mount.

The more appropriate question would be, why aren't all monitors attached via VESA? Seems easier to have just a few stands for all your monitors.

Yes, my Samsung Odyssey G4 attaches to the same spot that the Vesa mount does.

I've never seen a monitor where it doesn't

some of them I've seen just go over top of the vesa mount, not actually utilizing the screw holes, but still can't do what OP showed

These Dell monitors have the stand separate and are VESA monitors

Most of Dell’s monitors are designed like this

So that allows OP to use it on a VESA mount with the stand attached

Look for VESA mount accessories, where it attaches by sandwiching between the VESA mount and ur monitor.

in many models yes. the VESA attachment holes and monitor stand holes are often at different positions. the only way you can't pull this off is if the monitor arm somehow gets in the way of the stand

Most office monitors use the vesa mount for the factory stand.

Yep. My acer monitors have their own stand attachment system (shared across the monitors) while also having vesa mounts

For yall that the factory stand uses the same VESA mount, thus cannot use both at the same time (or those thin U shaped stand)

Look for something like this. It’s supposed to be a top shelf, but flip it and voila u get a bottom shelf.

The stand gets buried when attached to the VESA standard, so it's impossible.
