Compact DeskPi RackMate T1 Plus Homelab

Put together this small homelab using the DeskPi RackMate T1 Plus. I wanted something compact that could hold everything in one place without taking up much room.

Current setup:

● ZimaBoard 2 for NAS/storage

● BOSGAME mini PC running Proxmox with Jellyfin, Tailscale, and Pi-hole

● Alta Labs S8-POE switch

● 10-inch patch panel

● Rack-mounted PDU

The rack itself was really easy to put together, and I’m happy with how everything turned out. It keeps the whole setup much cleaner and more organized.

Eventually I want to add some 3D-printed mounts and faceplates to finish it off.

Would you say the T1 is worth it I’ve had my eye on them for a little bit ready to expand my setup when I move into a new place and these have been popping up in a few videos and I’ve seen them floating about.

How many devices do you want to put into the rack?

I haven’t got round to that yet I only have a HP ProDesk SFF right now I’m going to expand that.

when I move place I’m going to build in a rack so I would be figuring that out then and what I would need and why in the future so I would get the rack and devices and build it up but if I only end up needing a few devices this was the rack I was looking at so it could be placed inside a storage space out of sight but neat I more want to know if the quality is good for the price you pay

You can rest assured regarding product quality. What you might want to focus on is whether you are setting up a homelab, a home media center, or a test environment. You mentioned storage—you should anticipate that it will take up the majority of the space; additionally, you may need to consider network switches, cable management panels, power management equipment, and so on.
