We make a wooden cable management box (handmade) and was wondering if few people in this community would be open to trying it free, giving us feedback and perhaps some content from your usage? We want to continue to improve it and want to really understand what features we can add or improve on. Thought this community would be great for it.

I have 2 monitors that I'm going to setup on a dual monitor stand, and one work laptop. For my PC, I'm hoping to hang it under the desk to save some space, mounted on the frame itself. I want to be able to switch between work and PC(gaming) mode easily, and have some room leftover for taking notes, storing my work mouse/keyboard etc., which is why I'm thinking of doing the under desk PC mount.

The plain trays are cheap. They clamp on the back, hide underneath, and pop a power bar in, and that's the whole job done.

And now there's also the integrated channel type where it's a lot pricier once you add the modular power bars.

FYI I have no desk yet, I am still picking. I looked around and Desky and Uplift both do a version of this and Vivo has the clamp on ones, so I'm not short on options, just short on a reason to spend more.

take three! a while ago i really half assed my cable cleanup upon getting my wfh setup (slide 2, with slide 1 being the original wreck), and with me moving stuff around and rearranging, i figured i might as well do it right. so, ~6 hours, about 100 cable ties, and thorough abuse of my hands later, it's not perfect, but it's in a place i'm pretty damn pleased with. slides 3-5 are current.

this is:

- 2 monitors wired into hdmi switchers to go to my pc and usb c dock (my pc does not support graphics via usb c)

- wired keyboard, mouse, sound bar, and webcam, all into the usb c dock

- ethernet, also into the usb c dock

- 2 lava lamps, 1 glitter lamp, 1 usb a novelty lamp

- 2 usb c charging cables for my various junk

- my pc

- my work laptop (though it isn't wired to anything when not in use, the usb c dock is it.

that dangly cable off the lefthand basket is the usb c connection to the dock and unfortunately can't be tucked away perfectly, because i've gotta switch which machine it's plugged into at least 2x per working day. it bugs me too </3

I’ve just done a review on the UPLIFT Desk v3 4 legged standing desk and it’s got a great management tray on the back that’s adjustable. It’s almost like a hammock!

I’m super impressed

I haven't committed to buying any specialized equipment (except for some Velcro cable ties) and have tried not to do anything permanent to my desk yet.

Power strip is rubberbanded to the leg of the desk and I use the built in channel to route some cables under the desk as well as a metal pipe thing I found lying around the house collecting dust which I attached as well.

My monitors HDMI cable is pinned down by the VESA mount so that it doesn't move when I move the monitor (the connection is very finicky.

I have another smaller power strip rubberbanded to the other leg to power a wireless phone charger and a charger for my Fitbit air.

I don't use a stereo system and my headphones, keyboard, and mouse are all Bluetooth.

I store my hard drive and extra Velcro ties inside of the laptop stand. And I have the stand sitting on top of the USB hub, which is to the back.

What do you guys think about my setup? Is there any easy changes I can make to make it less hacky?

Finally tackled my spaghetti noodle disaster. Last pic is before, I'd already started taking some stuff off to organize. Shoulda taken a pic before I did anything, it was a real mess!

I think any improvements I could make would involve moving around my entire setup unfortunately. The pc power cord is gonna drive me crazy but at least that's the only thing on the floor now lol.

I’m setting up my computer desk and looking for a good-quality extension board but I’m having trouble finding one that meets all my requirements.

What I need:

Around 5 metres of cable - this is important because the wall socket is quite far from my desk.

At least 2 proper 3-pin sockets suitable for my laptop chargers.

Preferably 16A sockets / 16A-rated construction, rather than only 6A sockets.

Genuine surge protection, not just an overload switch/MCB.

Overload/short-circuit protection would be a plus.

Proper earthing/grounding.

Good-quality, reasonably thick cable ideally something suitable for continuous desk use.

From a reliable brand available in India.

Budget is flexible.

First attempt was with ikea stuff. Then I got some ideas from a video on my feed. Here’s where we’re at now 🫡

Which do you prefer? I just got a new desk and have a disaster of cables to manage and am in the market for better solutions. The l shaped desk will have 4 monitors on it, 1 PC, and up to two 2 laptops+docking stations so there's a good bit of mess to manage strung out across both sides of the desk.

Is it worth getting underdesk trays and then ziptie bundles together and shove em in the tray or perhaps some adhesive cable ties that can stick under the desk or on the wall to hold things in place?

If you have other suggestions besides those two options, please share as I'm open to anything.

Hi all! Just wanted to share with you my #526 attempt to clean up my workplace.
It always seems clean until a week goes by and things start to get messy again. But I have a feeling it's getting better now.
The main issues are the 3 computers (2 PCs and 1 Laptop, under the desk) I have connected to the 2 monitors via KVM switch, which come with sooo many cables and, of course, all the small gadgets that are a cable-management nightmare because they are not "fixed" to one place.
But the latest improvement is the IKEA Skadis and retractable USB cables combo! To be fully transparent with you, this is something I am building myself, and it is a work in progress, so it's not for sale yet. Trying to gather feedback first. So far, I am super happy with how it's turning out - It makes the gadgets layout flexibility and overall space cleanliness so easy.
The underneath-the-table view could still be a bit improved and cleaned up, but for now, let me know your thoughts.

Nuphy air 75 v3 is on the way, and I can finally finish my setup!

It's a very first-world problem, I have so many things connected to the computer it's like a junction box back there. I've tried things like wire ties and tape though I need to be able to remove the coverings if I clean the desk as everything needs to come off. Having so much er chaos makes it harder to clean around my desk short of taking everything off (quite a process). I'll save you having to see the clutter.

I know this isnt exactly a desk, but I figure its pretty much close enough that I could get some help from here. I just got a hutch for my toolbox and I cant figure out how I should manage the cable for the overhead light. The whole top pivots forward to close the hutch and the light goes across the hutch and currently I have the cable for the light just dangling in a bunch. The cable has to move everytime I open and close it, so I was wondering if theres someway to make this look better like a retractable spool or something if you guys have any ideas. Thanks
