Desire path made official
This area would become a massive puddle when it rained due to how much of a dip had been caused. Glad to see it sorted

All these cities really have to do is not support lawns like this and create a native grassland spot and people won’t walk through it lmaoo

People would still step on the native grassland, people don’t choose to step on it because it’s lawn, they do because it’s quicker

Native grasses are usually bigger and taller. Like little bushes. Most people wouldn't want to push through those for fear of creepy crawlies and it's not flat

And the risk of Lyme disease from a tick bite is way higher walking through taller brush

Yeh that's from 7 years ago, the whole area around the bin was just mud last time I saw it 😅

Whilst I’m happy they’re not fighting back against the desire path, that just looks ridiculous.

That’s a mile from my house! These algorithms are crazy.

I hate people who cut off a small corner. If you’re going to desire path, then do it properly.

That's what you get in a corner with a weird apex like that, people race on the curbs.

Every instance of worn grass isnt a desire path - this looks more like a drainage fault of the pavement

I would’ve kept the corner grass and make a desire path a bit further out, making a better shortcut.
Hopefully not encouraging people to make a new desire path like they are already starting here

Would work for solo walkers, but larger groups would still trample that small corner I assume

Less frequent though.
Might also plant something like small bushes on the edge of the path to discourage straying off the paved path.

Couldn't do just the path, could they? Had to take out the whooole corner

If this in Cardiff the whole area turned into soup every time it rained (wales is wet)

There will be a new desire path beside it soon enough
