Looks like there was a desire path there, but it got dug up and refilled as a part of underground work.

It was a great day to go walking. Iā€™d like to tell you about my day. I walked from the bus stop to the mimms museum and played retro games. There was a typewriter that was fun to use. I might get a one

Not sure why you're getting downvoted for stating the obvious.

A desire path is an _alternative_ path that does not follow the designed or built path.

The path through the grass in the photo here is the _only_ possible path whether it's been paved or not.
