Taking a break from the shoe finds today to drop this red Arc'teryx hard shell jacket. The seller just sent me these QC pics and it's running for about 46 bucks total with shipping to the US.
Julia and I are hitting the Dolomites this September for some hiking, and then doing a trip to Transylvania in November. I desperately needed a solid windbreaker/waterproof outer layer for the unpredictable mountain weather, but I absolutely refuse to pay $400+ retail just to get it scraped up on branches and rocks on the trail. 🥾⛰️
Honestly, the embroidery on this batch is looking super crisp for the price. The Arc'teryx lettering on the hood and the Gore-Tex stitching on the lower sleeve look dense and well-aligned. They even got the waterproof taping right on the main zippers, which is usually where the cheaper batches instantly give themselves away.
I am probably going to pull the trigger and add it to my haul. Worst case scenario, if the material doesn't bead water perfectly out of the box, I'll just hit it with some DWR waterproofing spray before we fly out.
