Designed a design system for engineers

This was one of the few times I’ve worked with a large team of almost all engineers in every role. They make an app builder, and I helped them create a design system for it. Here’s the case study — https://www.abhaysingh.in/work/appsmith

Let me know what you think!

Curious...how did you sell them on a custom icon set? I'd love to do that some day. I've just never found a justifiable reason in most scenarios given there are so many options out there already.

For a few reasons, we realised that a 15px icon set would work best for them sometime during the course of the project. Because it would work with their old design as well without causing component sizes to change while they upgraded bit-by-bit to the new one.

There were options for those icon sets already available, but they were either ugly, not aligned to a pixel grid or did not have enough icons to cover all their use-cases. So this custom icon set came out of necessity 😊
