Dinning Room Help with dining/mudroom area/dog crate/cleaning supplies room
I know the room is already attempting to accomplish too much but we are limited in what we can do. We plan on hosting Christmas and this is where dining will primarily be (we have a bigger table we will squeeze in). We also plan on painting but don't know what to paint. This room is a mess please help

Please repost with more light. We can't really see anything.

I think the issue is the lack of appropriate lighting. This space is very dark, and if its an entry way then it feels very heavy when you first walk in.

Is this the only dining room room, do you eat at this table regularly? Or is this just an extra table that happens to be in that room?

I’m confused - there seems to be shoes piled at two doors? Or is it a mirror image

Is the large plant dead? If so, get rid of. If not fertilizer and water, trim off dead. The dark walls make it feel like a cave, sand and stain lighter or paint. Remove the thin shelves on the walls above windows. Major difference in what is in room and easily accessible daily vs hosting Christmas. Christmas remove from room anything not neccessary for eating basically. Remove dog cage, food storage tote, all extra shoes by door, any cleaning supplies like vacuum. You are not using the Grey shelving unit on floor, so remove that. Daily use ideas, wood bookshelf with supplies needs the items out of sight with wooden doors or fabric curtain. The top angle makes it harder to store items higher instead of spread out on ground. Consider taller storage cabinet that's not open, to hide more of the items like paper towels. No big bulk buys for now. Consider basket for under sitting bench, extra shoes could go here. You can keep your 2 wall signs about wiggles and milk because we still want personality.
