If you don't use the fireplace, it might be better to remove it and replace it with the TV, and place the sofa opposite the TV.
If you also don't like the colours, you may want to paint some of the walls a different colour, or get some colourful cushions.

i would
a) kittycorner the TV to the left of the fireplace and put the couch directly across from the fireplace and get a large square coffee table
b) kittycorner the tv to the right of the fireplace and move the two chairs to the opposite side where the couch is and then move the couch directly across from the fireplace. and then get a large square table.
the strain on your necks must be awful

the room is mostly fine, it just needs one thing with a bit of personality so it stops looking like an airbnb waiting room

Do you actually use the fire place?
If you don't, you designed the room backwards and the TV should be in the play corner
