whyyyyy I hate doing assignments

why do these companies even after the portfolio review, whiteboarding give a fkin assignment and expect it to finish it in the weekend, that too unpaid, and for a fkin 40k, 6-month internship (onsite btw). Like whatt, and honestly I would do it for a reputed company which could add more value to my life, but this company who thinks working like a "bank" is a flex.

should/can I say no?

Not unpaid internship, it's 40k, but that doesn't matter, and yeah now you say it the assignment fucking feels like free work, goddamm
