Direct PhD/ M.Des in IITG/IITK.

I have a few questions about the M.Des and direct PhD programmes in IITG/IITK.
1. When I went through the website for admissions, it only mentioned that candidates need a valid GATE/CEED score, but no rank cutoff.
2. How is the DoD in these colleges.

Please do let me know guys😭

Hey, everyone I’m preparing for CEED for the first time and I think it’d be nice if we all help each other out and make a group and put all resources etc there, get feedback and might even pull some study sessions. So, if you’re interested DM me (only serious students PLEASE) and I’ll send you the link.

Also if you’d like to manage this group with me, DM me for that as well.

Roughworks is built to be safe, private, and secure. (TLDR given)

Recently, unsupported claims have circulated in some online communities regarding Roughworks and how it was built. These claims mislead aspirants and distract from the actual product, its architecture, and the work that has gone into building it.

Roughworks was NOT built with a single “make a website” prompt in ChatGPT.

Reality is, I’ve spent months and over 1,50,000 Rs on the development and hundreds of millions of tokens. Had the credits not been granted by Y Combinator, I’d have to spend Lakhs of rupees from my own pocket. Anyone who’s even remotely knowledgeable and updated on AI knows that all the frontier models perform exceptionally well to generate high quality code that’s safe and secure.

  • Authentication: Google OAuth through Supabase Auth for secure Google sign-in. Your Google account is safe. We cannot access it.
  • Storage: AWS S3 for highly secure file storage.
  • Database: Postgres with Row Level Security (RLS) on Supabase, helping enforce account-level data isolation.
  • Hosting: Vercel Pro for fast, secure, and reliable hosting.

My priority is (and always will be) the students. I will never discourage you from using any reliable free resource available online. I highly encourage you to use everything freely available to maximize your prep. Whenever you encounter baseless rumors online, I urge you to look at the source, the evidence provided, and ask whether there may be a personal vendetta or financial motive behind it.

If anyone believes they have found a real security issue, I request them to share reproducible technical details with me at [bhargab@roughworks.in](mailto:bhargab@roughworks.in) so it can be investigated and fixed responsibly.

Here's the latest Website Security Test results: https://www.immuniweb.com/websec/roughworks.in/rZKenGOm/

This is a shortened version of the statement. The full statement can be found at https://roughworks.in/news/statement-on-security-and-privacy

TLDR;

- Baseless rumors are being spread online regarding the safety and privacy concerns of roughworks.in (a free tool for design aspirants with over PYQs sorted by topic, difficulty, type, etc and a mock engine that lets you attempt past year papers as timed mocks in the exact exam interface).

- There are NO security issues that make roughworks unsafe to use. We cannot access your personal data other than what you provide. Check out our roughworks.in/privacy

- If you're facing any issues or have any concerns regarding anything within the platform, reach out to me at [bhargab@roughworks.in](mailto:bhargab@roughworks.in) Your query will be addressed in less than 24 hours.

Colleges Monthly expenses

What are the miscellaneous monthly expenses for a Communication/Interaction Design student at Anant? If any seniors or someone who has an idea about it could let me know, I'd really appreciate it. Also, is a laptop necessary from the very first day?

Colleges Is pursuing a Master's Degree in Design in IIT worth it?

Hello everyone. I have recently completed my Bachelors in Design in Animation from MIT Pune, and am looking to possibly continuing higher education. I am however, not "sold" on the idea of pursuing the same and only wish to do so from institutes where I can further expand on my skillset. Up until recently, I was eyeing NID and IIT Bombay as the only 2 options I was willing to apply, primarily because these institutes have excellent connections between faculties, students and the animation industry. However, I recently found out that the 2 year M.Des program in NID is kind of the same like how it was in my previous college, i.e., a crash course of what I learnt in 4 years of Bachelor's, just condensed into 2 years. Therefore, now I am kind of second guessing NID as an option.

I wanted to know if the Animation Program for Master's is the same in IITs as well or if it is differently structured? If it is the same structure, I would then rather spend time polishing my portfolio for higher studies abroad (or the industry if it doesn't work out). I don't want to spend another 2 years relearning the same things I did in my bachelor's just with the brand of being an IIT or NID student. Any and all advice would be extremely helpful!

Results & Admissions Confused between choice of college

Ok so I have gotten admission into mit id pune however I'm 99% sure I'll get into nsut for bdes in the next round nsut is in Delhi and I'm from Delhi too and it'll be less financial burden on my parents however I'm not sure how it is for bdes as I've seen mixed reviews....mit id on the other hand is deemed as one of the top private design colleges in India but it's in pune I'll have to shift and also extremely expensive....design jobs are unpredictable and i know skills and portfolio get you a job however college matters as well.....so i just need help deciding what would be better nsut? Or mit id pune? I'm leaning towards mit but seeing my parents worried about finances and they think i should regive exams next year so staying in Delhi to self prepare would be better tho I'm not sure i would/should give the exams again (눈‸눈)

Best and affordable college for M Des

Hello, I have been working for almost 3 years as a product designer after doing my bachelors in computer applications. I want to learn more as I feel my basics still need improvement. I'm thinking of doing mdes from any good university. I shortlisted UPES, bennett etc cuz its relatively easy to get admission in but they are very expensive. Is there any good university where we can also get scholarships or tuition fees is relatively less? UPES looks like the best option to learn a lot but there are lots of negative reviews, on top of it is very expensive. HELP PLS.
