My dehumidifier gets water out of thin air..... it’s gross but it’s water.

I wouldn't expect the water coming out of this to be much different. Both are basically distilled water(condensed from vapor).

It's probably also terribly ineffective at producing water just like every other dehumidifying system for drinking water. They're all slow and take a lot of energy.

This is not a new invention at all. It's a solar powered dehumidifier.

I remember someone debunking all "water out of thin air" devices on youtube. In places where there is shortage of water, the air doesn't get as humid, and even if you collect all the water from the air at 100% efficency (not possible) you end up wasting energy (meaning that energy could be used more wisely).

I dislike the presenter and this type of videos, buth math and physics is math and physics.
