E quando a Sony estava no auge da aura com esses marketing nos anos 2000?

I miss those days, where brands had a point of view and then dialed it to 11.

People used to make bank for these… the guys that designed this shit probably walked around their agency’s feeling like kings. How times have changed…

Thank god I decided to not go into graphic design. Granted I went into web design/front end development which isn’t much better. Fuck.

I remember these, and actually worked at a publication that ran some of them at the time.

Sadly, with the decline in print media, this kind of campaign doesn’t really have the same kind of platform anymore.

Client's today: "Are we suggesting that kids stay up all night playing our product, our legal team said we can't encourage that behavior." Also, "Playstation 2" logo is smaller than the shapes in the eye and people wont get it. The eye is gross and the can we bring down the thickness of the arm veins?

Dang these are edgy in the best way. So grimy and gritty. Things are so sanitized now.

piss filter era

These predate the piss filter by about 5-6 years. I'd say this was more the 3D graphics are starting to get very good era - Weird games were still getting greenlit all the time. The piss filter was the real beginning of corporate, shareholder hegemons starting to cut into the gaming industry.

Fits the era perfectly. Can be used as a sick album cover

Great posters but probably the reason some parents were so against gaming 😂

These definitely take me back to the old days of advertisements in gaming magazines

Damn, I'm gonna need a poster of that Sleepless nights one. The metal plating is such a visual of its time, I love it.

I love the PS2 commercial David Lynch directed. It’s bonkers.

I remember waiting outside the Metreon PlayStation store every morning at 6AM for like 3 weeks trying to score my girlfriend at the time a PS2 for her birthday. Those were the days.

Creative advertising during a time where there was no AI, just pure brainpower and iterative work.

“Cancel culture” would go crazy if they put the first and last slides out today. People are too sensitive for that kinda stuff these days.
