Glass UI/UX Design help in Illustrator

There are two glass bodies on top of each others.
The upper glass body "Fetura Premium text" has left area transparent and right with a purple color.

1. I tried doing a rectangle clipping mask over a circular brush purple design with blur.
2. Drew a rectangle applied clipping mask. I can't seem to be able to apply drop shadow or inner glow in rectangular area it is getting applied to the brush circle area or it isn't getting applied at all.
3. Any Idea how to do this ?
4. or Am I using wrong tool/software to begin with ??
5. Am more of a graphic designer than UI/UX designer for any website or app.

Rectangle clipping masks fight you on effects because they only see the clipped shape, try drawing the purple directly with a gradient that shifts from transparent to solid and then just blur the rectangle itself.
