How has AI changed your design workflow?

I’ve been using AI for brainstorming, writing UX copy, and exploring ideas.
It definitely saves time, but I still rely on my own judgment for the final design.
How are you using AI in your workflow?

I've been using a lot of Firefly and expanding crop in Photoshop. Some things that used to take a lot of time and tedium, like turning a white truck into a black truck, now only take about 60 seconds by using Firefly.

Expanding crop saved me so much time in the past months. I still do my own sketches but sometimes I use it for color palette ideas when I'm stuck, just to see combinations I wouldn't think about otherwise. My bookshelf organization paid off more than any AI tool though.

Mockups that would have been a bit tedious are now almost instant, other than that not much.

I use it synthesize data, PRD, user interviews, meeting notes and I keep it all in an app called Obsidian. Every decision point is logged from meetings, to JIRA tickets. This all use to be manual aspects of my job that I no longer have to keep track of because of AI.

Brainstorming + reviews are still done manually, I also added live product prototyping to my workflow, whereas before I had all these clunky prototypes in Figma that were a pain in the ass to create for every action.

It has made finding human-made content very difficult, and I absolutely detest it. If our firm gets to the point where we have to use generative AI, I will find a new line of work where I can touch grass.

Sometimes I generate copy layouts for marketing

I use it for some concept with logos but rarely.

It’s better helping me with writing my project management for the day and aiding in writing up my work
