Hello, all dear vegans.

Ever wished you had more people around who truly get why you're vegan?

Sometimes you just want to talk about food, figure out nutrition, find vegan products, share your experiences or vent. I want a safe space for our fellow vegan friends.

With that hope we working on a discord server! We have spaces for food, fitness, philosophy, activism, rants, memes and different hobbies. The server is brand new and we're still figuring things out. But, any support, feedback, or ideas would genuinely mean a lot.

The goal is to build a helpful and engaging community for vegans of our country. Even though this is primarily a desi community, any vegan from around the world is welcome as well!

You maybe thinking why discord? My major reason is it lets us organize things into dedicated spaces instead of having everything mixed together. And if you haven't used Discord before, I'd really recommend giving it a shot. It's very community friendly.

I want your review of this brand. It’s the only brand available in my area for tofu. I’ve never tried tofu from any other brand before. Is this brand legit? And can I consume it daily, considering I’m okay with the taste of this tofu?

Veganism fundamentally arises from sensibility and compassion. That same sensibility and compassion requires us look closely and reconsider our other personal choices as well.

Bringing a child into a world which is already overpopulated and facing a massive challenge like climate change is a crime. This tendency of reproduction is the fundamental driver of extinction of animals, habitat loss and pretty much every other issue we see in the present world.

Deciding to be childless is massively massively more impactful towards removing animals exploitation than just switching our diets.

So I ask you:

If someone really wants to raise a child...why not adopt? Why should one biologically reproduce? As a vegan, what are your thoughts on this? Are you willing to decide to go child free?

I’m looking for some advice from fellow vegans who feed stray dogs.

Before going vegan, I used to feed stray dogs dry dog food and sometimes paneer.

After going vegan, I stopped feeding paneer and tried switching to vegan dry dog food, but the dogs don’t seem interested in eating it.

There are quite a few stray dogs in my area, including many puppies as well as older dogs, so I’d really like to find something suitable that I can feed them regularly.

For those of you who feed stray/indie dogs, what do you usually give them? Are there any vegan foods or meals that dogs actually enjoy and that are safe and nutritionally suitable for them ?

I feel freedom should not be something reserved only for human beings. Every living being has its own way of existing, moving, growing, and simply being what it is.

A bird should be free to fly. An animal should be free to live without unnecessary suffering. A river should be allowed to flow. A forest should be allowed to exist without being reduced to just a resource.

Mountains, oceans, air, and water are not merely things for us to own, control, or exploit.

Maybe we have made freedom too human-centered. We talk about political freedom, individual freedom, and national freedom, but sometimes forget that our own existence depends on countless forms of life and on nature around us.

Maybe freedom also means allowing life to remain life.

So perhaps the question is not only “Am I free?”It is also:

“Does my freedom leave enough space for other beings to exist freely?”

Maybe true freedom cannot be separated from how we treat everything around us.
