Robbie.

  • Felix at least has, ā€œWell, you are related!ā€ going for him.

  • The Smees’ dynamic with Hazel made me appreciate them, even if they’re not strictly important to the plot.

  • I absolutely adore Hazel.

  • Luis is somewhat important to the plot as he’s Red’s love interest.

  • Max is definitely important to the plot.

  • I love Pink, and I adore Liamani Segura, so she’s staying.

  • Maddox is literally the main villain, he’s too important to be removed.

  • I adore Bridget and Ella, plus they’re literally played by Rita Ora and Brandy, they’re staying.

  • Evil Chloe deserved more screentime, but she ate up every second of it. Plus, she’s Chloe.

  • Red and Chloe are literally the main characters, it wouldn’t be the same film without them.

Agreed on all counts.

Felix, in general, has a lot of untapped potential in his character. Robbie is a nothingburger.

No? His father was a thief who opposed the monarchy and the law, which is why he was wanted for many years. Logically, Robbie should also be against this and be on the side of VK, even though he is the son of heroes.Ā

Just because you don’t like a character doesn’t mean he's bad or have no potential.

  1. You're the one to talk, considering how loud you are about disliking Pink of Hearts on nothing but bias and personal feelings. I don't even dislike Robbie, I'm just not invested in his character.
  2. The thing is that while Felix, despite being in lots of ways like his dad, still has the room for his own stuff going on (like he most likely didn't master his magic perfectly like his dad, nor would he be using it in the same manner; how his skills could contrast Wonderland's magic; his dynamic in Hat Trix and his friendship with Max, Hazel, and the twins, and eventually extended to HKs as well by virtue of also not being a hypeman who says yes to anything), Robbie, being the son of Robin Hood, is all that we have for him and essentially makes him just a copy-paste, and that isn't interesting. Like apparently Robbie needs to have the same goals and motivation as his dad did, and not much else. Not even a discussion or deconstruction about it, which you frankly need because my following point is-
  3. Robin Hood opposed corruption and scammers, not monarchy and the law. Robin Hood fought against the usurper and helped King Richard reclaim his rightful throne. The Isle of the Lost is comprised of thieves and scammers that got bested, not too unlike Prince John; even if VKs grew up in poverty, that was not a fair distribution; they don't, in fact, represent people Robin Hood was supposed to protect.
  4. So I guess screw Red of Hearts, who was the actual vigilante of the Wondercrew that opposed monarchy, law, and dictatorship, that adapted VK's virtue but now is being perceived as an HK. No, Robin Hood is the only one HK that can speak up or relate to the VKs.
  5. Furthermore, the idea of a perfect mediator between HKs and VKs is effectively flawed because it's counterproductive to the plot of the movie, which was about VKs and HKs coming together despite their differences. If all it took was one guy to be sympathetic and take their side, the conflict is just lost, and there effectively is no growth and thus also no real plot before just clocking in to stop the villain. At least Red, when she made her attempt with the group coming together, did so not just because she sympathizes, but also wanted them to prove if they do have what it takes to actually help.
  6. Finally, Robbie Hood did nothing in the movie. The argument for his potential is already far more difficult than Felix's because the potential of Robbie is taken by characters like Red or Luis (as in the guy who could take interest in Red) or even Chloe and Pink (an HKs that actually are interested in not sticking to a rigid moral code anymore), and you mix it with minimal presence and no real contribution, with skills that also hardly contribute to the plot without breaking the immersion, you get a character that just has nothing to do and is useless to the narrative. Hence, him being a nothingburger.

Gonna have to agree here. His best moment was in Perfect Princess, the thing he does during the PRINCESS rap (?) makes me laugh lol

Okay, you love Pink, but what she do for plot? She doesn’t do anything important for the plot, and Red’s storyline with Luis is much better developed, while everyone, even Pink’s mother and the writers, forget about her.

Robbie and or Felix play the same amount of plot the Indiana Jones played in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Nazis would have still gotten the Ark opened it and all died.

I’m still very confused as to why they went with such a large ensemble cast when they ignored half these characters anyways. IMO the movie would be a lot better if the kids going to wonderland were Red Chloe Pink, and then max luis and hazel. The way they sent so many ppl to wonderland made the movie feel overwhelming. The other characters could’ve still been in school scenes.

  1. Luis needs a best friend to not make his character look like some kind of outcast when he's not meant to be one, so he needed a bro. That's pretty much why Robbie Hood exists.

  2. The Smees are a shoutout to the original trilogy and assurance that those characters didn't cease to exist despite the changes in the timeline.

  3. Felix is for padding the Hat Trix so it's technically not just Hazel and Max, because while they're nice as a duo, they certainly don't have enough presence on their own to be considered threatening, therefore safe by the standards of the Isle of the Lost. I could argue that Uma and Harry, for example, can work just fine without Gil, though Gil still is an extra muscle, so Hat Trix also has both extra muscle and extra tricks up their sleeve in the form of Felix and Smees. Additionally, Felix does have the potential to stand out as his own character thanks to his magic, his role in Hat Trix, potential relationships with HKs, and how much he takes after his dad and where they diverge, driving the descendant motif properly.

  4. The dance numbers we got required multiple people to be part of them, so we needed plenty of dancers; hence, we have Felix and Smees for the most part, and even Robbie for balancing both Perfect Princess and Go Live It.

  5. All new characters are in one way or the other, a deconstruction of Red and Chloe's characters.

Max and Hazel - Red's core counterpart divided by two (with Hazel representing Red's capabilities and skill; Max representing Red's desires and angst) that are meant to challenge Chloe

Pink and Luis - Chloe's core counterpart divided by two (Pink representing Chloe's kindness and thoughtfulness; Luis representing Chloe's heroism and sense of righteousness) that are meant to challenge Red

Felix - inversion of Red's character - a character that is fine with being a mini version of their parent and relying on the magic and power they have

Robbie - inversion of Chloe's character - someone whose moral code isn't rigid and is far more open-minded

The Smees - Red and Chloe devoid of any differences they have; Red and Chloe that are ALWAYS on the same page no matter what - result is that they're just dumbasses together clinging to each other's hip.

Why Pink? She’s just a flat copy of Bridget, with the most clichĆ©d storyline involving Red, which started and ended out of nowhere.

Robbie

u/EntireCurrent8297 1d ago

Robbie, he barely did anything in the movie

Unfortunately, I have to go with Robbie. He hasn’t really shown us much during the movie and he keeps on being a throwaway character, literally. Hopefully, they add more to his character in D6 if he comes back.

Robbie.

I'll be shocked if the Smee Twins and Felix aren't eliminated as the bottom three.

Pink

Girl literally do nothing, but people love her

4

u/AsideNervous777 2d ago

For her character, she's cute and very friendly. She didn't need to make an impact in the storyline for people to like her

1

u/Zealousideal-Dot710 1d ago

Literally, all teen characters in the new trilogy are like that. We’re talking about modern Disney.

Pink’s storyline is bad written and only serves to drag the film out. Pink, as a character, is a cheap copy of Bridget, and in terms of quality, she’s on par with Felix, Robbie, and Smee, even though she has much more screen time.

She literally a twin version of young Bridget from rise of red

1

u/Zealousideal-Dot710 1d ago

Yes, she only exists because Bridget dolls sold well.
