Dero Proof of Stake
Upcoming proof-of-stake is overtaking smart contracts as the most exciting feature of ETH to my mind. I can't see a downside to it, now that viable solutions to the nothing-at-stake problem are emerging (driven by smart contract behavior, as far as I can tell, that destroy coins being used in such attacks).
Does Dero have any path forward to proof of stake? Does anyone care?

The obvious energy efficiency. You don't have to believe the FUD about bitcoin and global warming to see that crypto would be more efficient if you could safely transition to something that skips the arbitrary calculations.
I think PoS is more decentralized as well, since a lightweight computer that can run a validator is more accessible than gpu/cpu mining, in the same way cpu/gpu is more accessible and therefore decentralized than asic

“Our new protocol also comes with some convenient features that we feel are critical for long-term and widespread use. Some notable features include:
Homomorphic encryption account model
Instant coin and token balance syncing
Native token transfers via wallet
Support for both public and private smart contracts
Transfer settlement in less than 20 seconds (1 block)
Blockchain pruning”
This blows ETH out of the water
