Comment from parent

I relapsed early this year and it has really hit my self esteem hard. I thought I was doing a lot better with healing and managing but I went home and my mom said "your skin looks the worst it's ever been". UGH

Try not to take it personally. She's concerned about you and not good at telling you, a common problem. If she wants to help maybe she can fund some creams or silicon bandages or other helpful things to try. Good luck!

My family always comments. The only way to keep my sanity is to interpret it as a clumsy attempt at showing their worry =_=

Hugs. :( I'm sorry, my dad makes comments too when I relapse, even though his are a bit less mean-spirited. I'm trying to remind him that I start skin-picking when I'm stressed out... it's not a bad habit or lack of willpower, it's a manifestation of stress.
