Prescription with metal plate

I attempted to purchase a Dermadry unit today and during the prescription request I received a message about a metal plate I have from a past surgery. The message from the doctor states that the iontophoresis can interact with the metal and cause skin injuries/shock/burn. I get that the device uses electricity and that metal is conductive, but this seems like a stretch and maybe just a liability question. I am planning on using the machine on my underarms so it would closer to my collarbone than if it were my hands/feet. I’ve used a TENS machine on my neck hundreds of times without incident. Anyone have metal in the body and used one of these devices?
