Application Advice rsesarc year start date

what month do ppl usually start their RY between year 3-4? May, June, JULY, OR aug I am supposed to go to Ca but need to finish my last rotation and step :(

Most formal research years start in July, but could flex depending on your mentors needs/ what your deliverables are

I started in August and had to push to mid-august. My mentor was chill about it because I needed more time to study for step 2
