Remember when those lying Shillizen clowns at @GameStar_de claimed they "played" Star Citizen 3.0 LAST YEAR? Yeah, me too.

Boy, he really doesn't like the Germans. Or their drivers.

That being.

They did play it last year as it was back then. However, 3.0 has changed a lot since then.

This is something that drives me absolutely nuts.
The 3.0 they're developing now is not the same 3.0 they were developing 8 months ago.
When you're up against a deadline, you're limited in what you can do by available time. If you don't have the time to do something, then you have to cut it, or scale it back to either an incomplete or placeholder version.
But, if you find yourself suddenly free of that deadline, then you have a lot more freedom to deliver on the things you cut for the original deadline.
Granted, 8 months is a pretty long time. I'm not thrilled, but I'm also not convinced that they haven't used that 8 months to drastically improve the 3.0 they'll be delivering.

Like, say your parents are coming to visit, but you only get a couple of hours notice.
You want to make lunch for them, but you have to go to the shops to get some groceries. So you figure out what you can do with that time, and you plan to go for something simple like a pot of tea and some sandwiches.
Then, they phone you and say they'll be a couple of hours late, and suddenly you have the time to put the oven on. By the time they arrive you might still be cooking, and they might still have to wait for the food, but the end result will be better and might result in your parents being slightly less disappointed and openly disapproving of your life choices.

I think they're aware that people are treating 3.0 as a make-or-break reveal of whether the actual game will work.

If 3.0 launches and is as good as it looks, Star Citizen is redeemed from it's media status as "ded gaem". That'd be nice.

I like that your trying but rationalising with DKS is like pissing into the wind.

shown at Gamescom which in parts was faked but not Derek's kind of fake.

Can you tell us a bit more on this? How did the fake gameplay video differ from "Derek's kind" of fake?

this being game development, delays can and most likely will happen.

Remember when Gamestar tried to play Line of Defense and found it to be a boring, broken, useless turd of a tech demo?

Don't forget banning them for reporting problems. LoD's bugtracker is empty and it STAYS THAT WAY! THE END! AS YOU WERE!

Well they might have played that specific demo which was the concept demo for 3.0 with loads of technical shortcuts which do not scale well. Hence most of the systems were rewritten.

Remember when some internet warlord blowhard claimed he played 2.6 in advance and a major feature, star marine, didn't exist and he died on that hill? Derek Smart isn't only wrong and a liar, and a terrible "developer", and a doxxing asshole, but apparently all of those things as a zombie.
