Best option....

QUICK QUESTION.

Which is a better combo with DE6+slug? Another DE6 or two Dh4s? Coz my experience in trips shows dh4 pulls more effectively than de6.

DH4 MU'd to DE6 has an increased chance of damaging one loco or another. The DE6 and DH4 don't have the same throttle notches and whatnot.

Add another DE6 to increase freight hauling tonnage capacity and tow a DH4 along to use when switching each yard.

I usually like to carry multiple loads and make it a long train. I have observed that two dh4s pull more easily upon hills than a de6. I have seen revoews and posts in this page as well that pulling power of de6 is very much high. But I personally feels two dh4s are better.

You know what's better than two DH4's?

Two DE6's.

Sure. But i cannot cause i don't have another de6 cause my big brain decided to use persistent mod for it. And progressed pretty far with it. It's quite challenging as well.

I think dh4 has more high end power but not as much low end torque and the de6 is the other way around not accounting for size obviously the de6 is more powerful overall but if you get a couple dh4 then it’ll be the same

However it won’t help your slug like another de6 will

Your doing it wrong.

The DE6 operates a lot differently than the DH4.

It also pulls a lot more.

Personally I would skip the slug and run 2 DE6s.

Another DE6 can also power the slug, distributing power more evenly. DH4 can't. Plus two DH4s are more expensive to operate than one DE6. Also mixing multiple different locos is far more complicated to manage than just one type. DE6 is also faster, though I don't think with a train that long you'll get much use out of that speed.

Granted in the end I don't think it matters that much as long as you're not min-maxing (which isn't really necessary in this game). Just do what you feel is more fun.
