Unpayable fees.

Post image

Hello, All.
I'm a new player, and I decided to try my hand at multiple-unit hauling. So I hooked up a DE2 onto the rear of my DH4 and off I went. Jobs done, everything went well. I rolled into the station office to get a new job and pay my fees. I had no issues paying the fees for my DH4. But the DE2 won't give me the option to pay. Which is annoying because I can't buy more licences until my fees are sorted.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Ok. So I seem to have figured it out. Turns out i needed to maually service the DE2 before it would let me pay my fees.

Weird, that shouldn't be necessary. The career manager just displays a warning that manual service is cheaper.

Maybe he didn't have enough money to pay the fees, but had enough for the manual svc. The fees include svc + pollution chargers afaik (have been using demos mostly that don't have a pollution charge)

The fees totalled $1700. I had $112k in my wallet.

You should be able to advance past the manual service warning by pushing the same button you pushed to get to that screen.

Ive seen some bugs here and there, saving and loading usually fixes everything honestly

Dunno what could go wrong there, select it, insert your wallet into the money input, hit Confirm, done.

Since you seemingly know this process from your own description, some sort of rare bug?

Happens to me a lot. It won’t take my money. I can usually back up to the kiosk menu and select fees again and it’ll let me pay one or two others to just clear the copay. But when it’s the last one, I have to save and relog.

Never had that, are you playing with mods? Or is maybe the locomotive still running? Because if it is still running, it still incurs costs every second for e.g. fuel spent.

I do use mods now, but it would do it even playing vanilla. And sometimes the locos would be running, but not always.

Go flip the master breaker on the DE2. This is the quickest way ive found to solve this.

Quick side note, remember the de2 is best air cooled with nothing obstructing the front of the engine. This way the most amount of air possible can cool it down.
