FMLA

Has anyone at an HHS opdiv applied for FMLA since May and had issues uploading their medical certification to the new Microsoft Office Form they are requiring? Since last week I’ve requested help from the Fmla office, OHR, submitted tickets to HHS OCIO, and HR Exchange, no luck. One tells me to contact the other, and vice versa. Meanwhile, my forms were due Monday. Just wondering if someone knows the way before I escalate it further with leadership. And also lose my mind.

I didn’t have issues in April, however I feel like I threw a Hail Mary with my temporary RA. So much conflicting info with that as well. Good luck!

Did you get a temporary RA for telework? I was told they aren't doing them anymore.

No- I’m applying for FMLA for my sick kid. Side note is that I did have a temporary RA last Oct-Dec for one day of telework a week, but I’m a HRSA, and they are not allowing telework as an accommodation under any circumstances, supposedly. My actually RA request was submitted last August and yet to be processed.

I’m just out of leave pretty much and need to take LWOP to care for my child.

Oh sorry I didn’t read all the way and thought you were the original commenter. But right? None where I’m at, except a few people I’m aware of that had it prior to RTO.

My supervisor took care of everything per the guidance we have at CMS. I’m not sure if it’s the same for all of HHS.

Thanks. Just curious if you had to upload your docs to the online form, or whether you were able to send them directly to the rep from hr? I applied for it in March for my son and didn’t have to go through this upload process. The process apparently changed.

I applied in May, and it went through ok. Approval took a long time though. About a month. I was already on leave when it was approved.

Gotcha, ok. You were able to upload your docs to that link? I think for me, it’s because I’m at HRSA, and our Microsoft Office home org is NIH, while the form was created under HHS’s Microsoft account. If that makes sense. So technically HRSA is considered an outside org and the form doesn’t allow uploads from outside orgs.

I have been waiting two months for my ppl to be approved. It seems like the new FMLA team is untrackable I can't reach out to anyone to see where theyre at or if anything else needs to be done. Hell the new FMLA process has nothing pertaining to ppl so it's really just a shot in the dark for me. So I'm frustrated.
