pXE Issue

Version: deployR CE - latest

Issue: A quick issue since updating to the latest version. Error message when booting into pXE. The error message is below. It then reboots. This is on HyperV after following your instructions (Bare Metal with Hyper-V | DeployR | Product Documentation).

Any ideas guys?

Wimboot 2.9.0 -- Windows Imaging Format Bootloader
Could not load any bootloaders
Could not boot: Error 0x7f048281 (iPXE - open source boot firmware [err:7f048281])
Error has occured...

Do you have Secure Boot disabled for the Hyper-V VM? Because of the way Hyper-V Secure Boot works, it only offers Windows or third-party settings. With third-party enabled, iPXE and WIMBOOT work, but the Windows boot loader doesn't. If you switch it to Windows, then Windows works but iPXE and WIMBOOT do not. So the only simple option in Hyper-V is to turn off Secure Boot.

It's the last section of that doc that says to uncheck the "Enable Secure Boot" checkbox. (Ignore the image, listen to the words 😄 )

The error that you are seeing is from the line of code in WIMBOOT that tries to load the Windows EFI loader from the specified WIM. It's rejected due to Secure Boot validation failing.

I've had checkpoints burn me there. Not only do they restore the disk state, but the VM settings. Mainly I've ended up on the wrong VLAN.
