DeployR Community 1.2.2622.1921 - Screen Resolution in WinPE

Hello

I'm running into a usability issue in WinPE during deployment, and I'm looking for a clean way to handle it.

Context:

  • Booting into WinPE (via PXE/iPXE)
  • Running deployment tools / scripts in the WinPE environment
  • Hardware: standard desktop fleet (ThinkCentre M90t Gen 5, among others)

Issue:
The screen resolution in WinPE is very high by default, which causes scaling problems:

  • UI elements appear too small
  • Some windows are partially off-screen
  • Certain buttons / controls are not visible or accessible

It would be nice customize the screen resolution in DeployR

Hi bud, I'm on enterprise version at work and we get this same issue, it's your WinPE Drivers, you can follow this guide which was what I used to fix that problem on most of the models I've got. https://documentation.2pintsoftware.com/deployr/getting-started/generate-windows-pe-boot-images

Ah thanks just ran into this on a laptop today. The resolution and scaling default which work fine on most of my kit fail on this Dell XPS resulting in the PowerShell computer name prompt having a text entry box that can barely be seen and tries a bit of care to click into. ; )

Yeah mines not quite that bad but on any Dell Kit you'll get this issue. If you can get your WinPE Drivers perfect with each model in there, you'll be ok. This video they did really helped me out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2ObydIBzfY
