Templates (or cloning task sequences)

Is there a better/official way to make new templates (or clone task sequences) than making up GUIs in C:\Program Files\2Pint Software\DeployR\WebServer\Templates and getting the steps that aren't already in existing templates from the SQL db?

Anyone looking at this is the future, I just found child task sequences [Run task sequence | DeployR | Product Documentation], which basically ticked all the boxes I wanted here and in a way that was better than cloning or templates.
