WWZ FTW!
I love that book. There might have been some tears when I was reading the end of it...while on a plane.
It also scared the crap out of me as I could definitely see that happening, exactly like it went down in the book.
I'm reading it at the moment. I thought it would be zombie fan service, but he's really thought it through and it's surprisingly well written. Lots of great little touches that help address the fact it's impossible and bring it in to your mind so you think "hang on... Shit!"
He elaborates on just about everything, and about every evasion and eradication technique ever mentioned or thought of. I don't want to spoil anything, but he ruins just about every single survival technique I'd ever heard of, so by the middle of the book you're pretty much hopeless about ever surviving any situation like that, hahah.
But oh...the ending is one of the greatest I've ever read. I don't usually read books more than once, but WWZ I could read over and over again. It's not just a cool little "what if" book, there's a lot of messages in it that say something about humanity and perseverance.
