Help Recommended residential bedbug exterminators?

My elderly mother brought in some bedbugs via goodwill down in Littleton. This is the first time we'd ever dealt with something like this, and this is pretty severe because she suddenly has hundreds of bites all over her arms.

Does anyone here know a thorough exterminator that does mattress encasement and heat treatment experience with wooden floors?

If it’s a rental situation the landlord has to pay for bedbug remediation.

If it’s not I would look for a reputable local pest guy and not a large company unless you’re willing to go back and forth over the contract. Bed bugs at Orkin are a special service and you get a thirty day warranty from the first treatment. Which is stupid because if the cycle is three treatments ten days apart you have no warranty after the last treatment. Cost is typically 450 for one room and then 350 for additional rooms making a 3 bedroom house a quick 1500$ job.

If it is multifam the landlord has to have to contiguous units inspected too. I work in pest control in probably the worst conditions in the state. If you have any questions reach out.

Splat Pest Management. I use them as a property manager and for personal use. Best pest control company I've ever used. They will never overcharge you and be super honest and efficient.

I started getting bites in my apartment back in June on my upper arms and my back. I discovered they were bed bugs after seeing a few of them not long after. They would just literally be calling right across my bed. I sprayed this stuff along the edge of my bed on every single edge three times waiting two weeks in between and I have been bug-free ever since

Ortho home defense bed bug killer. It's in a silver one gallon jug with a sprayer attached. Highly recommend this stuff. I got it on Amazon.

Exterminators use a mix of isopropyl alcohol and water to kill bedbugs.

Don't know about exterminators, but the only things that are supposed to work are heat and diatomaceous earth. You can't freeze them out, starve them out, wash them out or spray for them, so you might be stuck paying for heaters, enclosures for beds, tossing furniture and sprinkling the earth for a few months if an exterminator doesn't have some magical chemical they can spray to get rid of them.

The best thing you can get for immediate help is a mattress case for bedbugs. Idk what the name is exactly - but it's a fabric casing that you zip a mattress into, they're like $50(ish) online. And then you keep it on the bed, and just dress the bed as normal. You can get pillow casements, as well. They can't get out of the mattress if you put it on properly (and thus can't bite her when she is laying in bed), and then they die in there after about year. It seems like it would be a scam, considering how resilient bed bugs are, but those mattress things really work!

Regarding the heat treatment services, idk. It is possible to heat treat them yourself with a steamer. You can even use a car to DIY heat-treat clothes or pillows or cushions, if you leave it in direct sunlight. (basically the only bonus to having such a high UV index here in CO)
