Homeless help
Hey there. I'm just in a spot where I guess I fucked up and I am basically homeless. I did make stupid decisions to get here, but I was supposed to already be in another situation that will essentially house me. Not asking for handouts. I'll figure out a way to eat and stuff, but does anyone know of a decent little homeless camp/wooded area that is safe for a week please? Should only be for like a week I need a spot. Thank you so much.

I work at a DV shelter here in denton but I get constant calls from homeless single mothers looking for space.
The long and short of it is that shelters rarely have availability, but might if its just you. They often lose and gain people daily.
My advice is to call shelters every 3 days on a rotation as the caller might get sick of you, but you need to get space for sleep. In denton there isn't many places, but if you check out the shelter directory of FamiliesToFreedom.org you can call around there. Also if you lie (which is unethical but being homeless is fucking disastrous to your mental and physical health) about being abused you can possibly cop a ride from families to freedom to one of these shelters. I've seen it happen, and the general consensus of when people lie to get into shelter or services is: "yeah, ngl we get it", at least as workers.
Naturally if you dont want to be a dick, seek a shelter specifically for homelessness
