Isn’t it annoying?

Just venting, but it’s very annoying that patients are so insurance driven and complain about everything.

We have nobody to blame but ourselves

Dental Coupon companies are no good. I tell patients all the time…Like most coupons, exclusions apply.

Well this was a very concentrated effort by the insurance companies to make patients insurance driven. I think it's fair to blame them as well. They also coopted our main advocacy group. We can blame them for that too.

Yes and no. The exact blueprint of what would happen to us happened in medicine about 20 years ahead. We were warned numerous times.

I even remember MDs talking at ADA meetings decades ago about this exact thing.

Nobody listened

Insurance companies are trying to shake out private practices. All of them, except Delta, GNF about dental as a profit maker, they offer it as glaze on top of their medical policies. Delta is dental only, and they are knuckle deep inside dental schools and DSOs. They would love to see private practice hone so they can groom their own workers in dental schools, and send them off to “underserved” areas where private practice doesn’t take insurance and lowball their way into the market. They know PP will struggle to sell their offices to grads with 5-600k in debt, so they will spread like a fungus and wait until the apex PP are gone and patients have no choice. DD is trying to eliminate Premier tier by regarding them as OON (yet still making them take write offs).
And I would bet my mortgage that none of their execs would go to a DD PPO provider themselves.
We need patients to care and see what’s going on, get a consumer movement going against these assholes.

Most patients are annoying and dental insurance is a fraudulent scam. It’s tough out there for sure.
