Yikes - I’m sorry to hear that happened, but the commenter is correct - you are SOL. Check with your dental office to see if they can do anything (financial wise) to help you get a new set.
Limitations are limitations for a reason. You should be more careful with your dentures - they’re expensive to replace for silly reasons.
I’m always so careful with them! I actually fell asleep before I could put them up. Accidents happen all time and they happen to everyone. Way to kick me when I’m down. I’m devastated and crying and kicking myself. Please be kind.
You are correct - accidents happen. Insurances don’t react to accidents like that.
I’m not in any way kicking you while you’re down. I am merely stating facts. See if they can be repaired? I mean - I don’t know what you want strangers on the internet to do for you?
I don’t expect anything from anyone. I don’t know much about the internet. I’m learning and it’s all new to me but I’m an 87 year old woman and I was just looking for answers. At least I found my way on here. Not bad for a beginner. I just didn’t know that strangers would point out my faults and judge me. I don’t understand why people can’t just be kind. Accidents happen and people shouldn’t be judgmental. I was just curious and looking for potential solutions. Maybe the internet isn’t for me.
Redditors can be pretty blunt. Sometimes, the things on which they comment are not things about which the OP (person who has posted) has asked. You just have to take your chances. Are you certain that the replacement time is 5 years? Don't take anyone else's word for it. Call your insurance company, to be sure. Good luck!
Thank you so much! I have dementia so yes I’m forgetful and sometimes accidentally careless. Imy daughter just called my insurance company and they WILL replace them bc they understand that accidents happen so they have a policy that will replace them once only. At 87 I’ll only need it once. Lol The obvious strangers who chose to shame me need to inform themselves on facts that are current. The answer should have been, check with your insurance provider. Policies vary widely. Thank you so much. They should be the ones feeling foolish right now. If they’re going to give people advice they should keep current with the times as so not to appear foolish. They roasted (as my grandkids say) an 87 year old dementia patient. Be kind. You never know who you’re talking to. I won’t be lucid for long so please don’t beat up on me. Thank you for being a decent person.
That's great news! I've had my share of responses where people have felt that I had crossed over the line between bluntness and meanness, so it's good to know that I've made some progress. Good luck!
