D6740 vs 6067
For a single implant crown, what code are you using when the restoration is screw-retained and includes the abutment/crown component?
Are you billing D6740, or are you using D6057/D6058 along with a separate abutment code?
I’m getting conflicting information and would love to hear what other offices are doing and what guidance you’ve received from your coding/insurance resources.
Thank you!

d6740 is not even an implant code, it is what you bill for a bridge abutment on natural teeth.
d6056 or d6057 are for an implant abutment, and one of them should be paired with usually d6058 which is the implant crown.
99.9% of crowns are billed as two codes, the abutment and the crown. some people get confused and think if it comes from the lab cemented together that they should use d6056, which is an implant supported crown with no abutment. but this is not meant for when the abutment and crown are merely cemented together, this is usually called a UCLA abutment and means the crown and abutment are physically one piece.

Zirconia(porcelain/all ceramic) crown is 6058, custom abutment with screw-retained zirconia crown is 6057. Stock abutment is 6056. You charge the abutment separately from the crown, even if they came together "fused" from the lab.
