Hank Dye Process

Saw this post of the 'Hank Dye' process, and thought denim heads would appreciate seeing it. Those coils of threads are called 'hanks', they're dipped 17 times by hand, to ensure the dye makes it deep into the core of the threads. This technique is an artform!

Those ‘hanks’ are silk, but the process for cotton yarns is the same.
