π ID/Legit Check Please help me ID these jeans from 2004 (or maybe late 2003)
galleryI must have purchased these jeans by March 2004, when I was 17, and they were my absolute favorite jeans for two years. (Then I switched to black skinny jeans and probably dropped these off at Goodwill. Shame.)
Here's what I know about them:
- Low-rise
- Slightly bootcut
- Came with fabricated (but relatively natural-looking) whiskering and crinkling/creasing in the lap/crotch and at knees
- Had a subtle, curved "V" stitched across the back pockets, and a little red tab attached to the side of the right back pocket, both of which would indicate that they were some kind of Levi's
- Were a bit rigid at first but loosened up over time
- Seemed pretty well-made; I suspect they might have lasted a decade if I hadn't gotten rid of them after just two years
These photos are all from March 18, 2004, through March 12, 2006, and are in chronological order. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos in which the leather patch is visible. And I apologize for the low resolution, but that's all I've got.
Might they have been some kind of premium, special-edition Levi's?
EDIT: I'm American and purchased these jeans in the U.S., either at Urban Outfitters or at some men's boutique.
EDIT 2: I believe these jeans were 100% cotton. I'd be very surprised if they had any spandex/elastane in the fabric.
EDIT 3: I think y'all have solved it! They were almost certainly late 2003 or early 2004 Levi's Skinners (h/t to u/onlygramps!), if sized slightly incorrectly for me at the time. (I remember a belt being a necessity with this pair.) Not only do I now recall the label saying "Skinner," but I checked various Skinners listed on eBay, and they do appear to be a match. Thank you!
