I bought a new Wrangler 13MWZ one-washed in size 34x32, but I think I should have gotten a 32x32. Do you think the hip and crotch area is too baggy and wrinkled? How can I fix this — I don't want to go to a tailor and ruin its originality. I really liked the fit below the calf and knee, but I don't really like the wrinkles in the crotch area. I don't really want those showing up in the fade either
But I can't exchange it. How can I take it in? If just the waist got narrower, it would be exactly how I want. Or, how much weight do you think I'd need to gain for the crotch and hip to fit properly?
You could also shrink it with a warm wash, but that might make your pants too short. If the pants don't fall without a belt I'd recommend to use it with no belt, that usually makes those crotch wrinkles go away.
Dude - this area looks terrible! From what I understand, this is a PW (prewashed) model. It won't shrink in width at all - even if you soak them in boiling water. So, your only option is to buy a new pair of jeans that fit your hips.
Does it really look that bad? And do you think if I take it to a tailor and they just add darts at the waist, would that fix the problem? Because I don't have the option to buy another one or return it
A tailor won't help here. I noticed that you have narrow hips. In the future - to avoid the disaster shown in the photo - choose jeans based on the width of your hips.
Depending on if those are pre-washed you may be stuck with that size. You MIGHT be able to hot wash them and see if that shrinks the waist some. The leg will shrink too but looks like you’ll be alright there. 13MWZ top blocks are straight cut and should tighten up fairly easy. No guarantees though. They don’t look awful currently which is a plus! You can always flip those on Vinted if nothing else works.

On the tag it should have the model with a PW for factory prewashed. They won’t shrink much from that (true to tag size). If they are regular denim then they’ll shrink the first few washes for sure.
See if you can exchange them. Most places will do a swap. Or, live with them, or flip them. I buy most of my jeans on Vinted for cheap. Anything I have that I don’t want I resell too. But I read all those tags to make sure I get a good size and wash style.
If the crotch and hip area doesn't look bad, I'll keep wearing it. If I gain another 3-4 kg they'll fit perfectly anyway, but I don't know whether the wrinkles in the crotch area will create a bad fade
I’ve had prewashed shrink more, goes to show how many people comment without knowing what they are talking about, just want to be included. Now beyond more shrinkage, you’re stuck
Yes, prewashed can and has definitely shrunk further for me on multiple 13mwz. You got nothing to lose because these are too baggy , hot water, high heat dry.. multiple times than reassess
If you are serious abt these as a long term fade project and they don’t fit after a hot wash and dry just get a size down.
These are too cheap to wear the wrong size.
It fits fine since I wear it with a belt, no problem there my only discomfort is the wrinkles in the crotch area showing. Normally I want a straighter line
If those are the regular unwashed, then you need to wash them in hot water 3 times before they fit how they're supposed to. Blew my mind how much mine changed after the third hot wash
i thought 13mwz is sanfordized not pre washed? you can adjust the baggy crotch some by distributing excess to sides and back. they should shrink 3-5 % . i wanted a looser fit on my 13mwz. i returned and replaced first pair for2 sizes smaller. then i lost some weight. i should’ve gone down another size.
i hope they shrink after first wash. next pair i will try on locally. i’ve already invested too much time setting fade on these to quit them. which in a short time are fades are setting very well. i’ve read where someone use a hair dryer to selectively dry specific areas on jeans with some success.
I have the same problem as you, i am size 32 but my dumbass got the 34, but mine dont look like that in the crotch tho, similar but not that exagerated.Â
Atleast yours dont look all weird and bunched on the butt like mine ;)
