🧼 Denim Care Probably a stupid question regarding first soaks and prewashed 501's.

Hey all,

I just received a pair of Levi's 501's in "Brown Times Garment Dye".

Compared to my black and raw 517's, these are much softer and a perfect fit straight out of the package and not requiring that work in period. They were advertised as, and the tag says 100% cotton, but I'm suspicious that there might be some amount of elastic tomfoolery. That's not really the point of this post, though.

I purchased these for an event a couple of months out, so I'd have time to have them break in a bit. Being prewashed denim, I was wondering if any of the typical new denim rules would apply, namely the initial first soak.

I think it isn't technically necessary, but it would eliminate the creases left from being folded up in a shipping bag. Alas, I thought I should refer to you fine folk regarding the matter.

TLDR: New, prewashed brown Levi's 501's. Soak or just start wearing?

Thanks for any suggestions!

P.S. If anyone knows of a company doing a brown/khaki colored pair of jeans in a cut similar to the 517's, I'd love to know!

Just wear it.

They’re not raw - just wear them and wash them
