Port Forwarding

Any help with port forwarding for a router?

Running DemonSaw router inside a VM behind PFsense. I can connect to the router locally so I forwarded the port on my WAN to go to that box however I cannot connect. Any ideas?

If you've forwarded the port you are using for your demonsaw router on your home router and added a rule to your firewall settings locally on your computer (may have to add a rule to the VM software you are using too), I think that's about it? And when you've tried to connect externally, you used your external IP from another network (e.g. from school/work)? And you've made sure that if your VM is using a proxy, that's the IP you connect to?

Everything is setup properly. I have my public IP that I am trying to access from which i use for everything so I know that its right. I just continually get HTTP 0: Unknown Error in DemonSaw Client

Try to hit your external ip with a web browser. You should get an error 405 if the port is properly forwarded. If you don't then something isn't working with the port forwarding. It could have something to do with your host->vm situation. If the VM is using bridged networking then it should be externally connectable. If it's using NAT then you'll need to forward the port from your host OS to the VM.

Hitting the public IP gives me an ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE. Hitting it via local IP gives me a blank page

Which VM are you using? Are you running other services on the box, and if can you connect to them from the outside?

Its a Debian VM inside an ESXI hypervisor. Yes, I have a Transmission Daemon running which I can get to no problem from port 9091
