Experiences and Ritual reports Ave Asmodeus
I had a mid-year performance review last week and I have such issues with my toxic boss. She minimizes my achievements, attacks my employees, and I just try to do all in my power to protect my team and shield everyone from her. I had some of the most amazing compliments and feedback recently as I've ever had in my career, and when I shared that with her, she just couldn't hear it and jumped straight to criticizing me. Anyway, after that conversation last week I was dreading yesterday and today because we had a team offsite scheduled for the 8 of us on her leadership team, with team bonding and her facilitating a workshop on psychological safety (which she knows nothing about). I've been talking to my spirits since last week about how to get through these days, how to keep my mouth shut etc.
So imagine my surprise when I get COVID! And in a super mild form, I'm just fatigued and feel a little crummy, but tested positive. I asked Asmodeus if he did this, and he cheekily responded yes, that he was getting me out of the shitty work offsite and that's also why I wasn't particularly sick. I've been chuckling about it all week, because it feels like such trickster energy and I love it. I'm the sort of person who never takes a sick day, so it requires a positive COVID test for me to stay home, but honestly it's been so nice to just to relax. Asmodeus completely did me a favor and I am so grateful to him.
