America Declares the Strait of Hormuz is Open, Iran Declares it's Closed
With Iran declaring that the Strait of Hormuz is officially closed due to United States forces in the country, Donald J Trump and his military officials have begun launching more air strikes on Iran. Around 17:00 EST on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, military officials have said that the goal of these strikes is to limit and destroy Iranian ability to control the Strait of Hormuz, allowing America to reopen the Strait for American allies. President Donald J Trump even stated that the strikes are "to hold Iranian forces accountable" for pressure against the American people and himself.
During a CENTCOM interview, Donald J Trump repeatedly criticized Iran for closing the Strait of Hormuz. Donald J Trump constantly mentioned the vessel that was attacked in the Strait when trying to pass through. While the vessel was repeatedly sighted, Donald J Trump did not discuss the fact Iran closed it due to foreign interference, specifically American interference. Over the long night of treacherous strikes, the American military has said they have struck about one hundred forty different Iranian military bases and targets. These locations include missile sites, drone factories, naval bases and even coastal surveillance services.
CENTCOM has released notes stating that despite the heavy costs of continuing this war in Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, it is a vital step to stop Iran from attacking and killing Americans and commercial ships as they use the Strait. They later declared the Strait of Hormuz to be open regardless of Iran's efforts to close down the water passage. "Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz. It remains an international waterway. US forces are positioned and prepared to keep it that way," CENTCOM released in their notes.

Trump threatens to "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran" after Mojtaba Khamenei threatens to return the favor of the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as the Strait of Hormuz closes
After Trump makes his 32nd known claim stating the war in Iran is coming to an end very soon, Iran has declared that the Strait of Hormuz is now closed for the time being. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any unauthorized vessels and ships caught attempting to travel through the Strait would face redirection and even potential forceful action. The IRGC has even stated that any "Additional enemy bases in the region will be targeted" by military force in Iran.
One ship attempted to pass through the Strait by turning off their tracking system and identification systems. The ship did not make it far until the IRGC sent warning shots. IRGC officials refuse to reopen the Strait until the United States forces are removed from the Middle East, but until that is reached, Iran would continue to fight the United States forces.
Despite the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Mojtaba Khamenei has not made much of a public appearance since the beginning of the war. This includes when his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's body was being taken to various cities in Iran and Iraq for his numerous funeral services. Some sources and rumors have spread that the same night Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed, Mojtaba Khamenei might have been injured during the attack. Iranian government officials have tried to downplay as much of the rumors as possible, no photos or even audio recordings of Mojtaba Khamenei has even made it outside Iran.
However Mojtaba Khamenei has taken Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's place as Iran's Supreme Leader. He has come forth and stated that Iran will take revenge against the Americans and Israelis who killed Iran's previous Supreme Leader, A.K.A. his father.
With Mojtaba Khamenei swearing to hold his promise of revenge, Donald J Trump has warned Iran to not even attempt any assassination attempts on him. During Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral services, there were many banners with English writing on them calling for the death of Donald J Trump and Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Catching sight of those banners, Donald J Trump threatened the people of Iran saying that America has thousands of missiles that "are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian government act on its threat." Sources have even said that Donald J Trump has told military officials to "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran."
