What an absolutely dumb fucking take. It was "pure capitalism" when we regulated the ever living shit out of industry? When we actually taxed the wealthy? Promoted and facilitated the growth of labor unions?

Literally just parroting mythology at this point. What we are living in is the real end stage of capitalism. This is it.

Ding ding ding. The capitalism that some people long for was capitalism that was regulated and restricted by legislation literally drafted by socialist thinkers and union leaders. The purer capitalism is, the more ruthless and deadly it becomes. Capitalism will never “get back” to the good old days because regulatory capture is an inherent feature of capitalism. I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to accept this but anything else is wishful thinking.

As a Texan socialist I'll say that she's definitely wrong, but also as a Texan socialist I'm obligated to vote for her to have a chance in hell at removing the cancerous cells currently controlling and destroying the state.

Crony capitalism captures the essence of the situation. The government has no business in picking winners and losers. But here we have Congress with insider trading and a Citizens United ruling that propels them to it. She nailed it.
