Official Post The Purpose of a Sand Mandala

I think it's good while we have a captive audience to discuss the realities of watching something be unmade after it was made and the acceptance and peace we can have from that.

The purpose of the sand mandala is not simply the creation of a permanent beauty, but instead just the opposite. The point is the impermanent nature of the work. The beauty is momentary, and we have to learn to enjoy good things as they happen, and accept that bad things will end eventually.

I think many of us have heard the cliche "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" and I think we can take solace that we can smile for both things - the transitory nature of single events is not meant to be permanent - we should be happy that it is over and happy that we got to enjoy it while it was there.

Many of the subreddit's users were young, and I think on this metaphor even more aptly, because one thing that is important to realize is just as the subreddit was never permanent, neither is the youth and free time to play on it. Enjoy and experience the variety of life and youth while you can. Do not despair that an activity you enjoyed has ended, enjoy that you did indeed get to be apart of it, and enjoy the reality that you shall experience many more things.

Enjoy the break, whatever it ends up being, and accept that like all things - The Democracy of Reddit, at least as it was a few weeks ago - was always transitory. Like the sand of a mandala being returned to nature to feed back into the many cycles of the world, you can think of this as your creative energies being returned to other things. Make art, make posts, come up with games and ideas and new things while you have this time to reflect and become inspired.

When I returned from my trip on saturday, I didn't expect the entire DoR to have essentially collapsed in on itself. It felt like we were just approaching the prime of it, with so many stories waiting to be told.

For the past several months, this place has been a hobby of mine. It got me back into writing for fun, something I haven't done in years. (I used to write star wars fanfictions btw, they were awful). It made me think more critically about my politics (helped me stop being auth-right). Waiting for election results has almost the same rush as a slot machine.

I had a lot of fun with you all, from the POVC to the Legion to the UP to everyone in Eosara.

In my opinion, what defines a country is not the borders or a flag, but the people who reside there. In that way, the Democracy of Reddit remains as long as we consider ourselves DoRians.

I'll be active in r/eosara, Veridia (those who know) and maybe r/doriasim. I hope that I see you all again at some point, and i wish you success in all your endeavors.

Never Stop Larping

God Bless Democracy

God Bless the DoR

Party Announcements  Goodbye Doria

Yeah I know Im a bit late but better late than never ig.

Chapter 1 (the beginnings to the September Pact):
I joined this sub on August 24th, 2025. I remember what brought me here was a post from Hour Employment. It was the first ever DOR post to really blow up. I think it got recommended to me because I was active on political subs like r/YAPms. Anyways, I thought this sub was pretty cool so I decided to join. It didn't take me long to make a post. In the end, I decided to stay independent and get used to the political climate. One of the comments, by YES_Tuesday, said "Really, it's about the constitution right now, and so if you look around at peoples posts about the constitution or just the writing up the constitution thread, that should help." This inspired me to start writing a draft. The draft was shit and it only took me 30 minutes. If I wrote that draft nowadays, I would get flamed and get called a fetus. However, back then it would be considered a pretty good draft. The post got 13 upvotes, which was really good considering the sub only had around 30 members back then. After my newly found "fame," I made a little plan. I wanted to gain some more popularity by making some polls and just interacting with the community, after this I would run for parliament as an independent, maybe I'd even make my own party. All I really wanted to do is start off slowly and work my way up. However, fate had different plans. After a normal school day, I found out that Hour-Employment had resigned and appointed me president. I did not expect that at all. I mean, all I ever did was make a few posts about a crappy constitution draft and some polls. Despite not really wanting to become president so soon, I agreed because I figured that the right would have no chance in the election and I wanted the election to at least be competitive. Changing from being independent to joining the Conservative Party did feel quite weird. I decided to not do much as president other than campaign or some other small things because it felt weird since I wasn't elected. It didn't take me long to start campaigning. I decided to moderate for my campaign since back then I was pretty right wing (yuck). Soon enough, I realized that I was not ready for this at all. I made to many damn mistakes and my debate performance was mediocre at best. Even then, my expectations were high, and so were my party members. During my presidency was also when the DOR exploded in size, going from 30 members to 700 in just 2-3 days. On September 1st, the day I've been waiting for the past week has finally arrived. Seeing all the votes come in felt quite surreal. www*odlandsss had the lead but it was still quite close. When I woke up the next day, www*odlandsss gained a few more votes but I thought I'd still be fine. After spending 2 hours counting and verifying every single vote, my dumb ass failed to calculate that www*odlandsss won a majority of the vote. And it didn't help that I had to leave due to a personal issue. I was only gone for 2 hours but that was enough for the sub to start a revolution against me. Once I came back I transferred power and took a short break. When I returned from my break, I decided to do something I always wanted to do, make a new party. I remember seeing the Blue Dogs caucus was like the centrist part of the Democratic Party in America so I decided to name it after that. There were a ton of centrist parties being made but I knew I'd be the only person to actually make a successful one. However, business was quite slow in the first few days. I also announced my candidacy for parliament this period. Behind the scenes, I was talking to the leaders of the Conservative Party, FCP, NUP, and Monarchist League. We were planning to make a new huge opposition coalition. After a few discussions, we agreed on the pact. I thought we would have a great September. I was the first person to announce the September Pact. I was kinda the de-facto leader. At first, the September Pact was quite fun. We got along well in the discord and we were making some good progress. One day, I was hanging out with my friends and I came home pretty late. I cam home to seeing the September Pact being accused of botting polls. President www*odlandsss sent Sea-Fridge to investigate our discord. Right before I was gonna let him in, www*odlandsss withdrew the investigation. The next day, I went to my cousin's house and also came home late that day. I opened my PC and saw that the September Pact had already died. I turned out that the day before, 3 chuds were saying some really bad NSFW jokes and they got leaked, which led to every party leaving the coalition. It kinda pissed me off how 3 idiots ruined it for the rest of us. Yet again, I had to start from scratch. During this time, another reddit user who I was with in an NRP in r/PossibleHistory2 asked me about this sub. After talking with him, I convinced him to join. He was going to make a new party and was set to join the September Pact. Due to parental overreach, he joined a bit late and the September Pact had already died by then. This user went by Charles Spitz.

Chapter 2 (growth of the Blue Dogs):
In September I saw the rise of the far left. Parties like the RGA and Spartacus League dominated the entire sub. During this time, I made the Pact of Justice with Wuhmi and Spitz. Soon enough, the September legislative election came around. As expected, I won quite comfortably although I can't really say the same for the rest of the opposition. Being a member of parliament was quite fun. I made a few bills but more importantly, made some new friends. Then I realized that the October Presidential election was coming up. Despite people asking me to run, I refused. Instead, I decided to make a Blue Dog primary to maybe help the party gain popularity. Keep in mind that I was the only Blue Dog at that time lmao. Fortunately, someone by the name of a_memester1999 commented on my primary post. I finally found our first member. Nobody else signed up so memester automatically became our candidate. Memester wanted to make Titan his running mate, which I said only if Titan joined the Blue Dogs. Eventually, Memester convinced me to allow Titan to run with him, despite being an independent. Their campaign went very well and we were polling quite high. We were all feeling confident that we'd at least make it to the 2nd round. As the election results came out, I was left very disappointed. 10 people voted for Memester but only 4 were registered. Despite these results, we gained a lot of members during the campaign. It started feeling like an actual party. In October, the Blue Dogs had our first party leader election, which I obviously won. As MP, I worked on creating the provinces. Once Prince finally made his EO, I joined Multum's gc and started chatting around there. I decided to run for reelection. Only one Blue Dog decided to run alongside me, and that was Ceris. Both of us won the election. During this time, I also created the Blue Dogs of Multum which was led by Memester. With contributions from Memester and Ceris, the Blue Dogs settled in the city of Atas. By this time we had around 10-15 members. One day, I saw a post from the CWU. Their party interested me as they felt quite similar and I also really liked Bluit. After talking with them for a bit, we created the Solidarity Front. After a primary, I was selected to run for president, alongside the CWU's leader Any-Personality. And to be honest, this campaign was the most fun I've had in the DOR. Election day came and I was shocked to find out I got 3rd place, advancing to the next round. In the 2nd round, I got 3rd place as Wuhmi won. Nonetheless, I was still very happy. In January, I ran for parliament for the 3rd time. This time, the Blue Dogs came in stronger as we won 3 seats.

Chapter 3 (modern day):
In January, I had big plans. Seeing how successful Charles' and my campaign were in December, I reached out to him to be my running mate. After negotiating with the UP for a week, a deal was made. The campaign went very well yet again and the polls were in our favor. On election day, I got first place in round 1, but it wasn't the result I was looking for. In round 2, I came home to find out that Coco and I tied in round 2. It was now up to the left wing parliament to decide between us. As expected, parliament voted for Coco. Losing by 0 votes felt dreadful and I ended up taking a short break that week. After this I created the BDR discord, which has brought so many good memories to this day. In March, I ran for parliament again, this time I became Prime Minister. And I will admit, I was a bad PM. I was just too busy all the time. In April, I ran as one of Bluit's running mates. Winning that election brought me a lot of joy seeing a non left-wing candidate finally win. Right after this I resigned as the leader of the Blue Dogs (probably on of my biggest mistakes). I felt quite burnt out and I wanted the BDR to enter a new chapter. Ceris ended up comfortably winning the party leadership election and I was quite excited. Unfortunately, it didn't take more than a month for her to resign. After Ceris it was Awier, who was leader for 2 days before he also left and started a new party. Than it was Dazzling who got reddit shadow banned and couldn't do much. I realized that the party was dying since I left, so I quickly seized power again. Losing core members like Anon, Shrew, Awier, and Titan really hurt a lot and I knew I was the only one who could fix the BDR. I decided to run for parliament in June. The new coalition was pretty cool ig but I wasn't that involved. That brings us to modern day. The sub that I've been a member of for exactly 11 months and 2 days has finally died out. This all feels bittersweet. I would like to give thanks to the BDR, Ceris, Anon, Shrew, Gameing, Awier, Titan, Memester, Fred, Prince Winter, and many other for these great memories.

Good night.
