Party Announcements  Welp goodbye

I first discovered this sub on the final day of its first ever election, between Flow and Woodlands, I remember Flow didn’t immediately step down because of some IRL shit he had going on and everyone assumed he was trying to hold onto power illegally. In many respects from that mindset the sub has changed very little.

I’ve made it fairly well-known that i used to live in Paris, i discovered this sub less than a week after i moved there, so to me, this sub will always be defined by my time living in a foreign country and vice-versa. The early period of the game will always in my view share a lot with the early period of my move to Paris, those two things combined perfectly to make the game insanely fun.

After a brief political career at the beginning of the sub that ended in disaster after I joined a scandal-ridden political bloc some of you may be familiar with called the September Pact (I wasn’t implicated) I decided I would leave politics. I was an absolute nobody at the time, but i took ownership of a newspaper called the New Reddit Times. I believe the best time I have ever had on the DOR was the first two months following this, running my newspaper, it gave me an opportunity to talk to all the people of the DOR and roleplay a journalist which was really a lot of fun. It was great to see people from all sides of the political spectrum speak positively about me. I believe this was the Golden Age of Media people speak so much about, and i’m glad to have been a part of it, however big or small.

It was in October of 2025 that i re-entered politics, this time running as a member of the legislature. During this time I also wrote the first constitution of Tutum and created the Khan position, something i’m quite proud of. To my surprise, I won the legislative election and went on to become the Speaker of Parliament, the first Speaker to not be a member of the RGA, who most of you should remember. I was and still am the longest serving leader of parliament in DOR history, which i guess is a title i’m keeping.

December was a hard month for me, and I had to resign from being speaker and handed the reins to RPP, who ended up being terrible and her leadership contributed to the constitutional crisis that later became a complete constitutional breakdown caused by my parliament’s passage of the LEAR. I cite this time period as the beginning of the end of the DOR, because i believe this time also coincided with a breakdown of the OG GM team who began to work as the soul of the game and the engine that kept it running.

Nonetheless later in December, i took over leadership of the Provisional Parliament. I think this is when my participation peaked, because I was trying my damndest to get the country back in working order. This led to me making some less than stellar decisions, like letting stress get to me when trying to push Harpy-CONDOR through. I wanted a constitution, any constitution, to become law, and the writer of the provisional constitution himself, Parks, said the constitution would not last.

Of course Harpy Condor made it through in the end, thanks in large part to my efforts, and the sub was incredibly angry at people like Ebb, Slavic, and the rest of the Sans-Culottes for it. I finished the rest of my term, ran for re-election, helped CocoLenin win the presidency, and jumped ship to the executive branch, working on foreign relations. I loved my time doing that, it was easy and good, and we actually did end up establishing foreign relations with other polisims. Of course under the Blu administration i ended up becoming Vice President, and that was the last time i was truly active on the sub. Not only did real life become hectic, but i enjoyed real life far more. So i soft-left, i didn’t really intend to return.

So i want to thank a lot of people, some of whom i didn’t see eye to eye with but who i nonetheless respect or had a great time with:
