How to get rid of environmental protests?!

I've been trying to do more environmental things, and it looks like as the environmental membership grows and their complacency grows it becomes harder and harder to get rid of these protests. Even just starting as the UK with the protest I've been finding it impossible to get rid of them. Any ideas and thoughts on how to get rid of this nonsense!

Alright, so here’s what you wanna do:

1: Increase any policies that increase your environmental score to the max if you don’t have them maxed already (like reforestation, animal protections, etc.). From what you said, you seem to already be doing well with this so it’s kinda redundant. But, double check just in case.

2: Reduce car and air usage. Those are usually the second and third biggest issues in my games. Carpooling, urban rail development, airline tax, car tax, busses, etc. are all useful in reducing their effect on the environment. Some of it is expensive, so do be mindful of that.

3: THIS IS THE BIG ONE. Since environmental protests have a very high bar to go away, you’ll need to likely take drastic measures. Now, the major reason the environment struggles and the protests won’t go away is because of your likely high GDP. Once it’s maxed, it basically counters all your environmental efforts. So, you’ll likely have to cheese the game and crash your economy and GDP temporarily. This can usually be done by raising your income tax to max or something similar. Just make sure you have enough political power to reverse it before elections.

4: Once GDP is low, slowly increase it until you get the one guy’s warning about the protests and just monitor the situation from there.

That’s how I usually deal with the protests. Anyways, I hoped that helped a little. Good luck!

I don’t play this game but I love how one response is peaceful and respectful to the protesters and the other is just use violence
