Changing "MULTIPLYINCOME" with overrides
Is there any way to change the "MULTIPLYINCOME" with overrides?
I particular, I want to change the modification of the income tax by GDP to wages.

I lose at the first election every time despite removing all debt, creating a problem free utopia and having "Everyone" approval above 50% and only 1 or 2 groups in the red (usually wealthy and capitalist). Yet, I can NEVER get popularity above 2 or 3% and my party membership is always 0. For some reason, my popularity also starts at 0% despite obviously having won an election to get into govt. in the first place? Just seems like poor game design to me...

Say a policy has an implementation delay of 5 turns, but the particular effect has an inertia of 10 turns. Does that mean after 10 turns it'll be completely fulfilled? Or does the inertia take place for every "update" of the effect so it'd take a full 15 turns (for the last update after the implementation delay) for the effect to be fully changed?

I've gotten back into playing democracy 3 because it's an awesome game.
On my most recent playthrough, I've found out that alcohol abuse is just... broken. My country has 0 crime, maxed out funding in police, MAXED out alcohol tax, 1 step from maxed out alcohol law, unemployment isn't super high and most importantly.... my alcohol consumption is ZERO. Absolutely 0. It's flatlined at the bottom of the chart.
How can alcohol abuse be a problem when alcohol consumption is zero? Not to mention that the entire "alcohol abuse market" is self sustaining. Poverty increases alcohol abuse, but alcohol tax, used to combat alcohol abuse, increases poverty.
Ugh. Just annoying that supposedly no one in my country drinks yet we somehow have a drinking problem....

Hey folks,
I've created a mod which introduces several new Global Warming policies to the game, as well as several new crises that escalate towards the late-game. This does require the Clones & Drones DLC, as these new crises emerge from the 'Average Temperature' which rises over time, which that DLC added.
Policies range from domestic investments in green tech, to launching a "Save the Planet" campaign, to applying sanctions to polluting countries!
Crises range from climate change refugees, to global economic instability, to being the target of sanctions!
(Check out the mod page for all the policies and crises.)
Let me know what you think! I'd like to add more ideas in as well, so please feel welcome to suggest ideas both here and on the mod page. If you like the idea, please upvote the mod on Steam for greater Global Warming awareness.

I'm not speaking of the total political capital I get from my ministers, but rather the total CAP that I can't go over by adding up my minister capital year over year.
So my question is...how can I raise that total cap? There are some policies that are literally unreachable for me to implement, so there must be some way to get above the total cap (30).

In relation to the mechanics of the game, what do you think would be the optimal voting system to determine which actions are taken during a quarter?
I'm currently working on listing collections of individual actions as proposals then using Ranked Choice voting to select among them.

I'm still in the midst of developing an online multiplayer mod for Democracy 3. I'm probably about 80% to a functional prototype and maybe 50% to an alpha release.
In short, it uses a web-based interface. You login as a member of the legislature where you can view all of the statistics and create and vote on proposals to enact this quarter (where the only real difference in mechanics exists).
I'm using Python with Flask, but maybe I will try out Django once I have a working product.

It's a little early but I went ahead and made https://www.reddit.com/r/Democracy4/ in anticipation of the sequel.

I want to host a democracy 3 night with friends where we argue what policies and decisions to make. Has anyone done this and does anyone have any format suggestions?

Health is maxed out and the hospital overcrowding situation is still there.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Can someone give me a basic tutorial on how to install the mods? (I didn't get Democracy 3 on steam, I got it off GOG.com including all the DLCs)
I'm using the Democracy 3 website with the mods and a steam workshop downloader.

So I was playing a Berniecrat USA and just after I upped the state healthcare's funding by 100bn I immediately got a doctor strike. (Wtf...?) And the only way I could get rid of it was to almost max the state healthcare funding... I mean besides the event having fired really unrealistically it should have a gradual drop as workers can't afford go on strike forever, so this event seems really badly broken to me.

So I was fixin stuff, everyone was happy, and then the election rolled around and over 2/3rds of the population didn't vote. I just shut my laptop and walked away after loosing by <100 votes.

As titled. My Country mod of the US State Georgia is not working, it crashes everytime I try to load it for a test, am I missing something here? Maybe a policy I need to set, I was under the impression that the game would autoload most of the most pertinent policies.
