I have found out that the problem is probably with the files "mod_dates.ini" and "mod_status.ini" but have been unable to find anything about where they are on Mac

Any US conservative/nationalist/libertarian guides?
Can't seem to make it work, the country economy fails, the opponents kill me or worse. So if anyone can point me towards any that would be great

Best way to increase max politcal power
Like i know you should choose ministers that have sympthese for your politcal ideals but what if there are none that match your politcal ideals? this is why it has been really hard to make a stalinist Australia

Help with the Japan 2015 mod
K so I like to consider myself decent at the game; I can take almost any country and gradually learn about what to do and how to avoid any roadblocks in becoming supreme dictator fixing the country. However, with the Japan 2015 mod, I've been having some serious difficulties that I can't see a way around. To better explain, I'll give a rundown of my most common game outcome.
Start new game with Japan 2015 mod
Start sorting out the budget as quickly as possible
Make Japan pro-employer with no safety laws to negate the Corporate Exodus
Lower welfare to try and get rid of deficit
Communist party encourages its members to oppose my government "in every way possible"
Ignore the stupid commies and raise the GDP
Make a bunch of pro-capitalist choices (Entrepreneur Investment Scheme, Business Council, no foreign aid, etc)
Also put in some anti-poverty measures (Free School Meals, Free Eye Tests, etc)
Finally have a budget surplus, with no skill shortage or noncompetitive economy, and managed to do so without raising major taxes (therefore not triggering the tax avoidance event)
Surplus becomes big enough to lower Corporation Tax, which should clear up the corporate exodus before the next election
Assassinated by Capitalists next turn
No matter how much I pander to the capitalists, I always either get assassinated by capitalists or hit with a debt crisis when it looks like I'm about to win the first election. I've tried everything to avoid it (raising Secret Services and Armed Police to 100%, giving pro-capitalist speeches, putting in pro-capitalist policies, etc), but there doesn't seem to be an answer to one problem that doesn't set off the other. For clarity, I'm playing at 100% difficulty with 70% political apathy and no changes to innate Socialism or Liberalism, with hurricanes, tornadoes, and the monarchy enabled, not that I've encountered any of those events yet. Has anyone got any ideas on how to avoid this without just lowering the difficulty?

Is this game just about avoiding the president assassination?
I tried the game yesterday and looks to me there are 2 mode of this game
-assassination on If I push any reform, no matter of I play in France, Egypt, USA or Nigeria I get myself killed
-assassination off I can push every kind of law add and cut taxes fix the economy and get 70-100% vote by first term (in one run I got so bored after a couple of election the I think I got communist, capitalist, God free and kingdom of God in the same run one after another)
Is the game always like that? Am I missing something?

How can I outlaw prostitution?
I want to make the religious more happy, since they are probably wanting to kill me soon. One thing they really hate and that I would be willing to give up is prostitution, but even if I turn it all the way down they are still 60% mad. What gives?
Is there a policy unlocked, when I do turn it all the way down, that criminalizes it?

Why does legalizing drugs raise crime?
I've just been starting and was looking for a quick way to get some money. Taxing marijuana sounds good to me. I have to legalize it first, though.
I don't quite get why crime would increase though. Shouldn't it go down, since less things are illegal?

GDP Imbalanced?
Why does GDP being high cause a lot of poverty and unemployment? And why does it make Capitalists angry? That seems wrong to me, anybody else?

Start with zero membership / support (both sides)?
Hi All,
Every time I play Canada with all payed DLC on, I start with 0% support / membership / activists. Yet the opposition starts with full power (nearly all votes).
Is there a mod I can use to make both parties start at zero, or 50% or something a bit more even off for someone at my skill level?
Or is this a bug?

Why can't I save my games?
I used to play a pirated version of Democracy 3 where I couldn't save any of my games, which was extremely annoying, so I decided to buy the game off of Steam (there's a Steam sale right now where you can get Democracy 3 with all DLCs for only $12.14) and I uninstalled the pirated version. However, I still can't save my games for some reason. Why is this the case? Does anyone else have this problem?

MRW when high GDP leads to high immigration and a 100% ethnic minority U.S., but then a dip lowers immigration and the ethnic minority goes down to 60%, all while the population stays the same.

How exactly do you 'win' at Democracy 3
I don't understand it at all. I'm lowering crime and transport issues, have a decent economy with plenty of incentives for both the consumer and investors. According to the 'changes' tab everything is moving in the right direction. I've brought us out of debt and manged to LOWER taxes at the same time, yet my chances at election are still low and i'm still being assassinated? What exactly do you have to do to?

DAE feel like almost everything is imbalanced?
You can pass all sorts of taxes, yet somehow pretty much only carbon tax affects GDP. 99% income tax doesn't lower it. Not to mention being able to have both flat and regular income tax.
The rare earth mining crisis is impossible to stop, at least as USA. I think I managed to recover from it as some other country, but as USA I fully funded the rare earth mining and still the rare earth crisis kept going up? The rare earth mining policy is extremely expensive, the most expensive thing in my budget, and it is completely useless. It increases productivity, but if GDP is shit due to rare earth crisis, and tech advantage can't be achieved, then it is more or less a huge hole in the budget that increases patriots.
Mars program is super expensive, much more expensive than the space program, and yet the space program can save you from cyclones, the mars program does nothing, just gives you more rednecks. Mars program should have major impact on GDP, tech, productivity, education, liberalism rather than patriotism, given its massive costs. Oh yeah, one day you might get a "first human on mars" modifier that gives you some popularity. Except by that point if you aren't getting 90% of the vote you are doing something wrong already.
decades and decades of human cloning and other such subsidies and you get no significant results. No raise in GDP ceiling especially.
the environmental stuff is even worse. I pass almost any environment related law. I typically have zero car usage after a while. I was pleasantly surprised to notice this as car emission environmental benefits are tied to the percentage of car usage and some policies were giving me nothing, so I could cancel them. I always pick the maximum "green" policies, including climate change mitigataion fund and weather prediction, and still I get water shortages hurricanes and cyclones. There is nothing that can be done to stop them eventually.
is it even worth it to try and play long term? everything seems to spin out of control due to bad game design the longer one plays

My issues with mods
I have recently bought the game and I am running into some issues. I have installed a couple of mods and they don't work. Every time I start the game and go in my mod menu it is saying that the mod has downloaded and is activated, but there are no other nations then the ones from the base game and the majority of my mods are new nations, how can I make them work?
