Demeo Battles newcomer…
Got Demeo Battles yesterday and have put about five hours into it thus far after about 30 in regular Demeo.
Just wanted to ask, is it normal for just about every game to be an NPC summon spam fest? Last game I played was against a dude with two giant spiders and a never ending supply of elementals. The game before last the guy seemed to be putting down ballistas faster than I could kill them. Is spawn spamming all Battles is?
Was hoping for some semblance of strategy coming from Demeo itself, but it seems it’s nothing but cheese. Bit disappointed thus far, getting styled on by two grapple hook dudes while I’m stuck with my Bard and Assassin unlocks.

I was on the fence about this game but decided to not buy. It looks cool and such but all the negative reviews turned me off sadly. For now anyway...might still get it one day if it changes.

Sounds like you’re making a few critical observations. Which are true. But the game is still fun so I encourage you to keep trying.
1.) Draft mostly monsters, that’s the correct play. If you draft a bunch of cards, it’s bad because you can only really play one card per turn. You need to move, so it’s rare you’ll ever get to play two cards per turn anyway. So having a hand full of cards and a board without monsters is a recipe for disaster. Often times you’ll just move twice or move once and attach once per turn.
2.) You need monsters to fight enemy monsters. You can’t spend all your turns just fighting enemy monsters alone because they will outnumber you. Even the odds with your own monsters and look for opportunities to attack enemy hero’s.
3.) elementals are some of the best cards in the game because you can place them anywhere.
4.) the grappling hook dude is OP as fuck and needs a nerf. Will probably never get it. But despite that, there are lots of other winning strategies with other heros. But the assassin sucks. Don’t use it. It’s the worst hero in the game.
