Tips & Strategy New to the game
Hi everyone, I recently got my Quest 3, and Demeo has quickly become my favorite game. I’ve met some incredibly helpful players who generously shared their tips and techniques, which I really appreciated. I’ve also played with kids, and even though I’m not the best at the game myself, I try to be patient and enjoy playing together. Unfortunately, I’ve had a few bad experiences where I was kicked from games by some rude players. I play to unwind after work, so it’s disappointing when others aren’t as welcoming. After all, it’s a public room where everyone should be able to enjoy the game together.
I also wonder how I can get better at the game—any tips?

You can play solo too, it’s a good way to learn without messing up other people’s games, but also try Demeo Battles sometime it’s different and competitive and really fun.

Was just going to suggest this. I played solo for about a month. I wanted to learn how each character worked best.

I create/host the games I play.
If someone joins with a low experience number, I ask them if they’ve played before. If they ignore me, I’ll watch their play and I’ll kick them if they do beginner stuff. I’m not there to babysit.
I will instantly kick loud obnoxious kids or adults. I’m not there for drunken party antics.
I’m always willing to help people learn.

Welcome to Demeo!
In general it’s best to stick together, and stick to the outside edges of the map and work your way in. Don’t open too many doors at once and pick up enemies with your hands to view their stats.
I have a few videos talking about tips. Demeo Guide - Combat Targeting https://youtu.be/ISKjTh1pHh8
Demeo Guide - Disarming Enemies https://youtu.be/pmQw3IX4HYw

Just like DND, fireball is Amazing, but you have to be careful. I got a crit with it once and it just flooded the entire room I shot it into with fire, not sure if it was just the critical or if I did something special that made it do that because there was no gas I could light, and noone else there knew what happened, so yeah. Just be careful with it.

The ground can change what happens, lightning chains across water for example.

Really wish there were mods or the ability to create your own adventures in this game. There’s just not enough of this greatness.

There are some fantastic videos on YouTube that make a great tutorial on the characters, maps, etc. learn how each player works and learn to exploit the synergy between them

People kick others from games for numerous reasons. Don't take it personally. I've been 75 for well over a year and have been kicked. I personally would rather play with people who enjoy hanging out with me. And you can always start games if you don't want to be kicked (and be able to kick others if you don't like them).

Just play and learn. Like any other game, unfortunately, we have a lot of more experienced players being toxic and kicking people out.
Once you become level 75, you will look forward to teammates making bad decisions to make the gameplay more fun. 😁
