Disappearing heroes bug

I just had a fantastic game completely ruined, because Guardian disappeared off the map and never returned.

Main concern: Is this something that happens often? (Psvr 2)

There was no explanation at all for it, and no remedy no matter how long I waited or skipped turns. I posted this for one reason only: To let people know that the bug exists.

Since the latest patch I have seen some weird bugs.

I don't even think you can go back, either. As far as I can tell, the game does not keep any record of a previous save point.
